Anastasia Aukeman
Anastasia Aukeman is an art historian and curator currently on the faculty at Parsons The New School for Design. In 2008, after receiving a curatorial fellowship from the Museum of Modern Art’s Department of Photography, she worked on the exhibition Bernd and Hilla Becher: Landscape/Typology. Aukeman’s dissertation, “The Rat Bastard Protective Association: Bruce Conner and His San Francisco Cohort, 1958–1968,” is the subject of a forthcoming book focused on the San Francisco avant-garde of the 1950s and 1960s. She has written numerous articles and reviews for Art in America, Art on Paper, and ARTnews, among other publications. Aukeman lives and works in New York City.
