For Dia’s series of Community Free Days, residents of neighboring counties Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester are invited to visit Dia:Beacon free of charge twice a year on select Saturdays. Please bring a driver's license or other government-issued ID for entry to the museum.

12:00pm Gallery Talk: Introducing Dia:Beacon
Steven Evans, Managing Director of Dia:Beacon will discuss the transformation of Dia:Beacon from a Nabisco Box Printing factory to a museum, and introduce key aspects of Dia’s renowned collection and distinctive history.
1:00pm Guided tours of Dia’s collection
2:00pm Family Tour and Activity
A guided exploration for families through Dia’s collection, followed by an activity session in the Learning Lab. Open to children 6 and above accompanied by an adult.
3:00pm Gallery Talk: The Landscape and Gardens of Dia:Beacon
Naomi Sachs, ASLA, Founder and Executive Director, Therapeutic Landscapes Resource Center, Inc. will discuss the plantings that surround Dia:Beacon. Designed by artist Robert Irwin, Dia:Beacon’s landscape masterplan reflects the diversity of the Hudson River Valley and the changing seasons.
All visitors will receive 20% off Dia:Beacon, the publication dedicated to Dia:Beacon and the collection, as well as Hudson Valley-related books and merchandise.
In addition to the café, an outdoor concession will provide seasonal fare.
