DIA ART FOUNDATION CONGRATULATES LYNNE COOKE



Dia congratulates Lynne Cooke, its long-time curator, on her appointment as chief curator at the Centro Reina Sofia, Madrid. Ms. Cooke will maintain her position as curator at Dia in conjunction with this new post. Indeed, throughout her seventeen-year career at Dia she has always maintained an active schedule of independent projects while fulfilling her significant curatorial responsibilities.

Dia Chairman Nathalie de Gunzburg states, "Dia is delighted that Lynne has been offered such a wonderful opportunity to expand her curatorial practice. We look forward to continuing our work with Lynne and to exploring the possibility of developing programmatic collaborations with the Reina Sofia."

Ms. Cooke, who will divide her time between New York City and Madrid, adds, "I am grateful to Dia for enabling me to accept this exciting opportunity at the Centro Reina Sofia while continuing to fulfill my curatorial responsibilities here."

As Dia's curator, Ms. Cooke directs all temporary and permanent installations and related publications and programs, while also overseeing the permanent collection. She is presently organizing major installations at The Hispanic Society of America, as well as at Dia:Beacon, Riggio Galleries including a special project by Zoe Leonard, to open in Beacon in September 2008. Ms. Cooke is additionally curating a major traveling retrospective of the work of Blinky Palermo, scheduled to open at Dia:Beacon and Bard College in fall 2009.

In her position at the Reina Sofia, Ms. Cooke will develop exhibitions and related programs, and work with the curatorial staff on diverse projects.
